The centre has presented its new image, reflecting its commitment to scientific excellence, innovation, and society
The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) unveiled this week its new brand identity, featuring a modern design that projects its scientific mission in a more digital, open, and socially connected future. This renewal aims to communicate ICIQ’s innovative spirit and forward-looking vision while maintaining the rigour and dedication that define its activities in chemical research.
The new visual identity centres on a refreshed logo that retains the molecule as a symbol of its scientific heritage, while the accompanying descriptor has been simplified to ensure greater versatility in digital environments. The image is further enhanced by a vibrant colour palette and a modern typeface, combining precision and coherence with an evocation of the centre’s dynamism.
This rebranding process was carried out collaboratively, with active involvement from individuals across ICIQ’s management and research teams to ensure the new identity faithfully represents its culture. Additionally, ICIQ has redefined and articulated its vision and values, providing a framework to guide the actions of the entire ICIQ community and integrate these principles into all its communications.
As part of the launch, internal activities have been held to engage ICIQers and some actions are planned in the coming months to share this renewal with partners, collaborators, and the general public. The new ICIQ identity aims to strengthen collaborations, attract scientific talent, and drive projects addressing society’s most pressing challenges.
“ICIQ’s rebranding is more than just a visual update: it is a declaration of our commitment to excellence, sustainability, and scientific innovation, as well as our service to society,” stated Professor Emilio J. Palomares Gil, director of ICIQ. “The new brand reflects our dynamic nature and our ambition to continue leading chemical research to tackle major societal challenges.”
With this renewal, ICIQ takes a significant step forward in its evolution as a leading institution in chemical research, embracing the future with an identity that blends scientific tradition and innovation to address the challenges of modern society.
