Last Friday, 12th April, Cosmo Caixa Barcelona held the presentation of five validation and knowledge transfer projects funded by Obra Social ‘La Caixa’ and Generalitat de Catalonia with 2,5 milion euros.
Antoni Llobet‘s project, in collaboration with Emilio Palomares and Pau Ballester (ICIQ) and Ricard García Valls (URV), is among these five and it focuses on the design of a photoelectrochemical cell for the generation of solar fuel, framed within his research line on artificial photosynthesis.
The act was hosted by the consejero de Economía y Conocimiento de la Generalitat de Cataluña, Andreu Mas-Colell; Jaime Lanaspa, general director of the Fundación ”la Caixa”; Antoni Castellà, secretario de Universidades e Investigación del Departamento de Economía y Conocimiento and Enric Banda, director of the área de Ciencia, Investigación y Medio Ambiente of Fundación ”la Caixa”.
The remaining four projects are being developed in four Catalan research centres: The Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), the Institute of Research in Biomedicine (IRB), the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) and the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG).
