Method of preparation of electrode for electrocatalysis

The present invention relates to a method for the preparation of an electrode suitable for electrocatalysis comprising an electrocatalytically active material, in particular an anode for alkaline water hydrolysis, said method comprising the steps of providing a carrier suitable for an electrode comprising an electron conductive material, providing a precursor mixture suitable for the combustion synthesis method, transferring to the electron conductive material of the carrier of step the precursor mixture of step to produce an electrode precursor; and heating the electrode precursor obtained in step to produce self-ignition of the transferred precursor mixture. The invention also relates to an electrode obtainable by the method of the invention and to its use in electrocatalysis.
