A publication from de Mendoza group is distinguished as a Hot Paper in the Chemical Communications

The article Two-photon microscopy study of the intracellular compartmentalisation of emissive terbium complexes and their oligo-arginine and oligo-guanidinium conjugates (Chem. Commun. 2008, 2435-2437), co-authored by Filip Kielar, Aileen Congreve, Ga-lai Law, Elizabeth J. New, David Parker, Ka-Leung Wong, Pilar Castreño and Javier de Mendoza, has been distinguished as a Hot Paper in the mentioned Journal.The authors, from the University of Durham, City University of Hong Kong and ICIQ have synthesised a terbium complex conjugated to a range of peptide conjugates including a C12 chain, Lys-Arg7, Arg7, a tetraguanidium cation and human serum albumin and they have shown that two-photon microscopy can be used to reveal the cell localisation of these terbium peptide conjugates. This is the first time that two-photon microscopy has been used for terbium-based systems.
