ICIQ Seminar Programme
The programme invites 30-35 top international and widely recognised chemists who give a talk on different fields of chemistry. The seminar programme has hosted many prestigious international scientists, including Nobel Prize laureates K.B. Sharpless, R.R. Schrock, R. Grubbs, and A. Suzuki. Additionally, the speakers are invited to private group meetings where graduate and postgraduate students doing research on the same field have the chance to talk and exchange ideas.
ICIQ School
The ICIQ School brings together graduate and postdoctoral researchers from all over the world to attend the plenary conferences delivered by some of the most prestigious chemists in the fields chemical research, catalysis, mechanistic insights, physical organic methods as well as ingenious and improved methods for preparing building blocks of synthetic relevance in both pharmaceutical and academic laboratories. Graduate students have the chance to show their research in poster sessions and to network with other graduate and postgraduate students from other national and international institutions.
Hands-on Training Activities
We offer hands-on training activities on the use of ICIQ’s scientific instrumentation (nuclear magnetic resonance, spectroscopy, automated reactors, parallel synthesis reactors, chromatography, etc.) and advanced training in the interpretation of analytical data (X-ray diffraction, high resolution mass spectrometry, kinetics data from spectroscopy analysis).
Transferable Skills Courses
We have designed a transferable skills programme tailored for each stage of the research career. We offer a variety of courses addressing relevant abilities and skills we think researchers must have to make the most of their career and their life as well. We particularly focus in the improvement of scientific writing and oral presentations, time management, entrepreneurship and leadership. Moreover, ICIQ counts with a Career Development Service aiming at self-assessment, definition of career profiles and knowledge of external labour market.
International Conferences
ICIQ facilitates the participation of both graduate and postdoctoral researchers in national and/or international conferences and encourages the presentation of talks and posters.
Language Courses
ICIQ offers language courses (Catalan, Spanish and English) free of charge for staff members.
