Prof. A. M. Echavarren giving the diploma to Dr. Lloret-Fillol
Shortly before joining ICIQ through ICIQ’s Startig Career Programme, Dr. Julio Lloret-Fillol received the Young Scientist Award given by the Organometallic Chemistry Group (GEQO) of the Royal Spanish Chemical Society.
“It is an honour and a responsibility to have received the ‘Young Scientist Award 2014’ in its inaugural edition. I believe that the award is not only a recognition of the work done in the different groups where I have developed my scientific career, to which I am extremely grateful, but also an extraordinary motivation to tackle new scientific challenges in this new stage” -says Dr. Lloret-Fillol.
At ICIQ, he will develop a project aimed to merge concepts at the edge of the fields of solar fuels production and catalytic transformation facilitated by coordination complexes to perform new light-driven catalytic transformations of organic substrates. This project may open newer and greener avenues toward the application of artificial photosynthetic schemes in catalytic transformations of organic molecules of added value.
