The symposium will gather experts in the field of catalysis from both institutions working on the study of new catalytic transformations that can be employed successfully in novel synthetic pathways. Catalysis is the key activity for sustainable chemistry to address enviromental issues. Catalytic processes allow a better use of raw materials and minimise energy consumption, and they can lead to the selective formation of target products with minimal generation of waste.
The symposium will last for three days. The first two days will consist of 30 minutes lectures by Technion and ICIQ researchers. ICIQ speakers will be professors Anton Vidal, Kilian Muñiz, Rubén Martín, Paolo Melchiorre, Pau Ballester, Feliu Maseras and Miquel A. Pericàs. On behalf of Technion, the symposium will count with the participation of professors Mark Gandelman, Ammon Stanger, Ehud Keinan, Yitzhak Apeloig, Galia Maayan and Ilan Marek. The third day will be dedicated to the search of synergies, the detection of potential collaborations and possibilities for funding, with the participation of the research projects offices of both institutions.
This symposium is organised with the support of Secretaria d’Universitats i Recerca del Departament d’Economia i Coneixement de la Generalitat de Catalunya.
