At ICIQ we consider catalysis as a key activity for sustainable chemistry, making it one of our main research topics. We aim to develop processes and products for industrial use that exploit resources more efficiently and minimise waste. Our approach to catalysis involves different perspectives and methodologies, especially those related with health and sustainability.
Our research focuses on the following goals:
- Finding of new ways for a better use of raw materials.
- Building of catalytic methods to obtain biodegradable materials, fuel additives and new polymers.
- Development of shorter and more efficient routes to bioactive substances.
- Mitigation of the effects of climate change through CO2 conversion into valuable products.
